Rebaix Wind Farm (Aat)

Eoly’s wind farm in Rebaix is located on agricultural land along the A8 motorway near Rebaix and Bouvignies, two boroughs of the Walloon city of Aat. The farm, which has been operating since late 2020, produces enough green energy to provide 1,500 households with electricity per year.

One of the three turbines within the farm is owned by Eoly Cooperation.

The Brussels-Charleroi canal is the perfect spot for some fresh air, especially for wind turbines. Turbines are able to catch plenty of wind along the channel, while seamlessly blending into the surroundings. Since late 2015, three turbines have been in operation along the canal, two owned by Ecopower, the other by Eoly Energy. Our wind turbine produces 3.873 Wh of green energy per year, which means 1,766 fewer tonnes of CO2.

Expansion of Lessines-Silly

Green energy

Expansion Lessines-Silly

The Lessines/Silly wind farm is an extension with 5 wind turbines. For this we use a piece of agricultural land next to the A8 – E429 motorway and the Colruyt Group distribution centre in Ollignies. The first wind turbine, built on the site, has been operational since December 2016. It supplies power directly to the distribution centre.

With the 5 new/added wind turbines we produce about 30,105 MWh extra per year. We placed 3 wind turbines north of the highway and 2 turbines south of the highway. 1 of the 3 new turbines in the north will also supply electricity directly to the distribution centre via a direct line. The other 2 turbines will inject their green power into the grid.

Two wind turbines for two cooperatives

Each of the 2 southern wind turbines has been fully transferred to a cooperative, respectively Eoly Cooperative and the Clef cooperative. These two companies have already raised the capital for this from interested parties in 2022.

The tip height and the capacity are slightly smaller for these two turbines: they each have a tip height of 130m and a capacity of 2.2MW.

Oud-Turnhout

Green energy

Oud-Turnhout

Eoly Energy plans the construction of 3 wind turbines, along the E34 in Oud-Turnhout, in collaboration with water company Pidpa. The expected energy production will correspond to the annual consumption of some 11,464 families and lead to a reduction of 19,081 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

Choice of location: along the E34

Two of the three wind turbines are planned on grounds belonging to Pidpa, along Corsendonk in Oud-Turnhout, one of which is on the water production center itself. The third wind turbine is located in an agricultural area, on an open field next to the highway.

The three sites have little habitation in the immediate vicinity and are located at a considerable distance from residential areas.

Windpark Spy

In 2014, we built what was then one of the most powerful wind turbines in existence in Belgium, along the E42 motorway in Spy (between Charleroi and Namur). With a capacity of 3.4MW, it provides enough green energy for 1,642 households per year.

This turbine forms part of a larger six-turbine wind farm.
